Humility God's Gambit

Humility is a mini-boss in the mod God's Gambit, and is the virtuous counterpart to Pride.

Behavior

Humility wanders around the room and is completely intangible — being unable to deal contact damage to Isaac or be hit by his tears.

  • Humility occasionally attacks by firing 4 scribbly lasers from himself in a +-shaped pattern.
  • During the battle, a drawing will occasionally appear in a random location of the room which turns into a Pon. Killing a Pon deals damage to Humility equal to the Pon's maximum HP (20), as well as a bit of extra damage depending on the current stage.
    • Humility will be unable to spawn more than 2 Pons at a time.

Trivia

  • The sounds that Humility makes when firing a laser is the same sounds used when scrolling through the character select screen of the main menu.
  • Humility is one of the Seven Heavenly Virtues, and is the counterpoint to Pride. Humility is described as the ability to restrain one's own ego, put others' needs ahead of one's own, and keep a level head even when things are going well, as opposed to pride, which entails an inflated sense of one's own importance (up to and including seeing oneself as superior to God) and becoming enslaved by one's own selfish desires.
    • This is reflected by Humility itself being practically a non-entity in its own mini-boss fight, being unable to touch or be harmed by Isaac, with the only direct threat it poses being its occasional laser attacks. The fight with Humility is effectively a fight with a pack of Pons with the extra complication of laser beams thrown in.
